A Parting Shot

A couple of people have emailed me and commented on how much they liked a couple of my Galapagos photos of the Sealions and Iguanas etc...

Thanks heaps guys, but it actually wasnt too hard to get the photos. They have loads of rubber iguanas and inflatable sealions there at all the beaches. You just arrange them how you want them; take a few pictures; and then let the next person arrange them how they want them...

The Turtles are a high density nylon I think, as are the red crabs. Im not sure what most of the birds are made from (very realistic feathers), but the cactus are pretty much all two dimensional cardboard replicas...

Keeps the Galapagos "image" alive even after all the natural wildlife has been eaten by the locals or destroyed by the thoughtless tourists...

Actually its far easier for all concerned these days. The park rangers now dont have to deal with the real animals, they just build boardwalks and pick up garbage. And the scientists are no longer biologists, they are materials scientists and chemists researching new plastics and rubbers for the iguana and sealion replicas etc. ... It spins off into new tougher materials for use in commercial markets.

Its all really a perfect example of "adaptation to a changing environment"!...

Darwin would be pleased Im sure :)))
